ABA Technical Assistance Bulletin: Effectively Operating Youth Justice Programs

“Teen Court, Youth Court, Peer Court, Student Court, Youth Peer Panels/Juries”

This eight (8) page technical assistance bulletin examines Youth Justice program in the state of Kentucky over a twelve year period.  It provides some solid ideas for what to do and what not to do in local Youth Courts, Teen Courts, Peer Courts, Student Court, Youth Peer Jury and Youth Peer Panel”.  It is important to note Kentucky is one of the few states where Youth Justice programs are largely operated by the Kentucky Administrative of the Courts and therefor, they are more similar than other states where local programs within a state often operate them very different, albeit with similar outcomes anticipated.  This bulletin was funded by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and published by the American Bar Association under the direction of Global Youth Justice’s Scott Bernard Peterson.
