Youth Courts, Teen Courts, Peer Courts, Student Courts and Youth Peer Panels
This outstanding resource is utilized to training youth volunteers and conduct mandated community service educational workshops for youth sentenced by their peers. This resources also includes adult instructor guides and handouts. Lessons featured include victims of crime, crime and consequences, vandalism, a jury of your peers – what is the role of diversity, bullying-assault-sexual harassment, shoplift deterrence, resolving conflicts through negotiation, overview of the juvenile justice system, what is the intent of the law, laws based on values, reducing underage drinking and more. Every program should be using some of these workshop and lesson modules to improve the quality of their program. This FREE Manual was funded and published by the Office of Juvenile Justice/U.S. Department of Justice and Street Law, Inc. under the direction of Global Youth Justice’s Scott Bernard Peterson.
